Listening
Approximately 40 minutes long with topics of generic healthcare interest and accessible to all candidates across all professions. This tests your ability to understand spoken English in a range of situations in real life healthcare settings.
Reading
Read and understand different types of texts based on a variety of healthcare professions and subjects. This will help build your ability to understand and apply written information as you would in your day-to-day healthcare practice.
Writing
Complete a writing task specific to your profession such as a document of referral, advice or a letter of transfer or discharge. This will prepare you to communicate clearly and professionally in writing, using the same documents you’ll be expected to produce in your role.
Speaking
Engage in a role-play based speaking assessment specific to your profession. This will give you practical experience in delivering effective, patient focused communication in realistic scenarios.
